Breakfast burrito with bacon and black beans, orange wedge and lettuce garnish, with black coffee, at Christie’s on N Lombard St.
This is the closest breakfast place to my house by at least a few blocks; I eat breakfast there probably once a week on average, minding my email and Metafilter and drinking two or three cups of coffee.
I’ve got a regular french toast and eggs and bacon that I don’t even have to order when the normal guy is working, but some mornings there’s someone else on shift and I mix up my routine by ordering off the menu. So: breakfast burrito today. Not bad, not great, for getting something in my stomach it was just fine.
That’s about par for this place. It’s nice to be a regular, nice to have a place that’s reliable and comfortable, even if it’s not really a bring-folks-from-out-of-town sort of joint.
